This is a close up shot. To me this instantly draws me in not just because of the fact that it's a child that is in the shot (quite intense) but you don't know what this photo gives of. It seems very dark and grim which makes you want to ask many questions about how the child is feeling, is he upset? quizzed? a victim of a crime? happy? there's so many questions to be asked but no answer to them.
I want this to come across to my audience in the same way with my project, i want it to puzzle them. Obviously with my project having the filtered colours to signify which statement reffers to HFD. If i get a shot of someones hope and it comes across negativley I want my audience to ask the question that is within, and dig out the reason behind the answers.
This is a shot that is of further distant and to me doesnt give of the same effect as the other photo as i believe there is to much background space and it needs to be filled with something. Maybe if there was some text to go with it then you could imagine seeing this as a potential document that you wopulde find in a newspaper or on a campaign company but as it is its to open and seems wrong. It doesnt seem to intense. Maybe small things like a tear running down the mans face then that would make it more interesting as then you could have been given some information then you start asking questionsd that you want to know the answers to but because it doesnt and its shot from a further distant away it just doesn't have the same effect as the other photo pitcured above.

Hope Fear Desire #2
Over the past couple of weeks i've been thinking that the idea of the marrige proposal is not effective and a bit to long winded in terms of time consuming. The whole idea is a bit to complex and basic skills are used for the recording. No light settings have been thought about and it is just a steriotypical boy loves girl (visa versa) scenario. So i've thought of something that would be alot more effective and different. It's still a basic idea from a professionals point of view but in my opinion I think it will be a lot better than my original idea.
I plan to shoot this in a recording studio with lights availablke to cast some shadows (dark/light) in a ratio of 50-50. This will cover half of the clients face which should come across to produce a mystic effect, and an almost personal reflection of the client and their thoughts. I want to basically get each client to say only one thing that they hope, fear and desire. Then at the end say ''hope, fear, desire.'' For example.
Person in shot; ''Love ...... Betrayal......Happiness......hope, fear, desire.''
In ever shot that the client says their hope, fear and desire I am going to put a colour tint on them. Using semiotics to inform the audience as to which quote reffers to their hope, fear and desire. For example the shot that is to do with hope this will have a sunny yellow effect over it, fear having a red tint and the desire having a baby/duck egg blue tint over them. This will inform the audience and they will be able to pair up each quote with each segment.
I aim to get around 6-10 people to say their hopes, fears and desires as this would reach around the 1 and a half minute mark to 2 minute mark that I am for my video to be about.
I feel this will be a good piece of work as it is quite emotional as people are letting their inner feelings out infront of a camera with an intense lighting to help build towards the emotional effect.
